Sudan Offers Its Condolences to Qatar Over Sharm El-Sheikh Accident

Port Sudan –Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Sovereign Council has expressed its deepest condolences to the government and people of Qatar for the victims of the traffic accident involving members of the Emiri Diwan, who died yesterday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, while on official duties.
The Sovereign Council expressed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Qatari government and people over this huge loss, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded and injured.
It is to be noted that three employees of the Qatari embassy were killed, and two others sustained varying degrees of injuries, in a traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The group was heading to Sharm El-Sheikh in South Sinai to contribute to logistical preparations for the Qatari delegation ahead of a major international summit scheduled for Monday.
The summit aims to finalize an agreement seeking to end the war in the Gaza Strip, where the Qatari delegation was participating in ceasefire negotiations.
Security sources revealed to Al-Masry Al-Youm that investigations and surveillance cameras indicated that the cause of the accident was high speed and a tire explosion in the vehicle carrying the Qatari embassy delegation.
The sources said that initial investigations indicated that the vehicle transporting the delegation lost control due to a steering wheel malfunction while traveling at high speed, causing it to overturn on the median strip 50 kilometers from Sharm el-Sheikh.
