Sudan Government Undertakes to Remove Obstacles for Turkish Investors

Turkey has declared its support for the resumption of vital projects in Sudan, while Sudanese Finance Minister Jibril Ibrahim pledged his government’s commitment to removing all obstacles facing Turkish companies in order to complete their work on these projects.

He confirmed that preparations have been finalized to launch the preliminary works for the completion of the Kalanib and Garri thermal power projects, to be implemented by Turkish companies.

During his meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fatih Yildiz, and representatives of a group of Turkish companies, the Minister highlighted the depth of relations between the two countries, expressing Sudan’s desire for further strategic partnerships to serve mutual interests and enhance economic cooperation.

For his part, Ambassador Yildiz announced his country’s support for resuming work on energy and water projects within the framework of economic cooperation with Sudan. He emphasized the direct attention of the Turkish government to strengthening strategic partnerships in the oil and gas sector.

He also revealed that engineers from Turkish companies have already arrived to begin work at the Kalanib–Port Sudan thermal power plant project, and encouraged more Turkish companies to enter Sudan’s investment sector in ways that would benefit both countries.
