Sudan Embassy in Addis Ababa: Death of Technical Attaché Staff Member Was Natural

The Sudan Embassy of in Addis Ababa has denied circulating reports claiming that an embassy staff member was found murdered in his apartment.
The Embassy confirmed that the staff—Chief Warrant Officer Fath al-Rahman Mohammed Babiker, who worked in the Embassy’s Technical Attaché office—passed away from natural causes,denying allegations he was murdered.
An embassy source told the news site “siudanhorizon” that the deceased, who had begun working at the embassy just a month prior, suffered from a respiratory condition. He died of natural causes resulting from oxygen deficiency linked to Addis Ababa’s climate; the city’s mountainous terrain contributes to lower oxygen levels.
