Sudan Electricity Company Announces Martyrdom of Two Staff Members at Sennar Transformer Station

The Sudan Electricity Company announced the martyrdom of two members of the company’s work team following an electrical switch explosion that caused a power outage at the Sennar Transformer Station.
A statement issued by the company today, on Friday, said that it mourns with deep sorrow and grief the deaths of technicians Saif El-Din Dafallah and Al-Munshid Ahmed, who were martyred while performing their national duty at the Sennar Transformer Station.
According to the statement, the tragic accident occurred while the two technicians were attempting to restore transmission line 110, which had caused power outages in several states, including the Blue Nile, Sennar, Gedaref, Al-Jazeera, White Nile, and North Kordofan states, which are currently experiencing power outages due to this malfunction.
The statement explained that a sudden electrical short circuit led to the explosion of the main switch on the line, causing severe burns to the two colleagues.
The statement noted that martyr Saif El-Din Dafallah died at the scene of the accident, while singer Ahmed was taken to the hospital for treatment, but he later died from severe burns.
