Sudan Electricity Company announced the arrival of the first shipment of reconstruction transformers, comprising 400 transformers with high technical specifications and varying capacities, dedicated exclusively to rehabilitating the national power grid in Khartoum State.
In a press statement, the company explained that the arrival of this batch marks the launch of the “major phase” of the capital’s reconstruction project.
According to the statement, engineering teams and field platforms will immediately begin replacing damaged transformers and installing the new ones in residential neighborhoods and commercial areas, ensuring the expansion of illuminated zones and the reduction of dark areas left by the destruction during the previous period.
The statement confirmed that this shipment represents the first building block in a series of successive batches that will arrive gradually to cover all affected sectors.
The company noted that these supplies were contracted as a fundamental solution to ensure the sustainability of power supply and the stability of electrical voltage in the targeted areas.
The company reiterated that all recent financial and administrative measures taken, including the restructuring of the new tariff, directly and tangibly serve the improvement plans.
It added: “Our ultimate goal is a fully illuminated Khartoum, and these 400 transformers are only the first step in fulfilling this promise to ensure a stable and dignified life for all citizens.”
