Sudan and Brazil Discuss Technical and Development Cooperation in Agriculture

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Muawiya Othman Khalid, met with the Deputy Director of the Brazilian Agency for International Cooperation, Ambassador Luiza da Silva, during his current visit to Brazil.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance technical and development cooperation between the two countries, focusing on agricultural fields.
A press release by the Sudanese ministry said an agreement was reached to send experts and technicians to and from Sudan to identify Sudan’s needs in agricultural research and to rehabilitate scientific centers destroyed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) terror militia during the war.
The release issued by the Media Department of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that the Brazilian Agency expressed its full readiness to contribute to supporting the return of small farmers to their normal activities, providing improved seeds, assisting in restoring the seed bank, and continuing cooperation in developing sugarcane and cotton cultivation.
For his part, Ambassador Muawiya presented a vision for developing and processing gum arabic, considering it a strategic commodity of paramount importance in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. This opens broad prospects for fruitful partnership between the two countries in this vital sector.
