Sovereign Council:Strict Measures to Tighten Security in Khartoum State

Lt Gen Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, member of the Sovereign Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, and Head of the Higher Committee for Preparing the Environment for Return to Khartoum State, has stressed the need for swift action in deporting foreigners and refugees,failing to produce legal documentations, to their countries of origin and refugee camps outside the capital.
Gen Jaber has urged people to refrain from employing refugees or renting homes to those lacking official residency permits.
In the meeting of the Committee for Security and State Reinforcement which he chaired, Jaber has instructed that preparation and securing of refugee camps be implemneted , emphasizing the importance of tightening control over border crossings to prevent the re-influx of refugees into Khartoum State.
The Sovereign Council member also commended the significant efforts of the Committee for Security and State Reinforcement, describing it as the spearhead of the Higher Committee’s work to ensure a more secure and stable return to the state.
Lieutenant-General Jaber noted that there would be no hesitation to decisively address chaos and lawlessness, and prevent the possession and use of weapons outside the framework of the law, stressing that there would be no leniency in taking strict legal measures to control the security situation.
He also directed the re-invigoration of the Moral Guidance Department to raise awareness among military personnel about their roles during this critical period.
In the same context, the member of the Sovereign Council has stressed that there is no political, regional, or private interests behind the removal of informal settlements, emphasizing that the measures taken were merely organizational and security procedures.
