Sovereign Council President Receives Somalia’s Prime Minister

The President of the Sovereign Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, on Friday received Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of Somalia, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them to serve the interests of the two countries and the two sister peoples, in addition to the developments of the situation in Sudan, the latest developments in Somalia and questions of mutual interest.
The President of the Sovereign Council praised the bilateral and solid relations between the two countries, saying Sudan looks forwards to continuing joint work with Somalia to advance and strengthen the distinguished cooperation relations and expand their scope, advance and consolidate them.
The Somali Prime Minister has meanwhile expressed his country’s keenness to continue joint cooperation with Sudan and strengthen and enhance bilateral relations to achieve the aspirations of the two countries, stressing his country’s stand by Sudan to achieve security and stability and ensure its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
