Sovereign Council Official Warns Hate Speech Threatens Ties Between Sudan and Egypt
Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Moussa
Sudanese Sovereign Council member Abdullah Yahya confirmed that the operations carried out by the Armed Forces and their supporting forces on locations in West Darfur are part of planned tactical tasks, falling within the framework of the operational and control plans implemented by the forces in the theater of war.
In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon news website, Yahya said that these actions represent a qualitative breakthrough and carry a clear message that the Armed Forces and their supporting forces possess the capability and readiness to reach the rebels and harm them wherever they are found. He emphasized that all Sudanese borders are now within the reach of the army, that the initiative is now in the hands of the Armed Forces, and that there is no longer any safe haven for rebels inside Sudan.
On another note, Yahya warned against the growing hate speech between some Egyptians and Sudanese on social media platforms, stressing that this discourse has become a factor threatening peaceful coexistence and good neighborly relations between countries and peoples, particularly the historical ties that bind the Sudanese and Egyptian peoples.
Yahya added that maintaining the strength of Egyptian-Sudanese relations remains contingent on the wisdom of the two leaderships and the role of the media in both countries, and, above all, on the awareness of the two peoples and their commitment to preserving the bonds of brotherhood, historical unity, and shared destiny that unite Sudan and Egypt.
