Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Musa
The head of the National Forces for Change, Dr. Al-Tijani Sisi, has underlined that it is difficult for the National Forces to participate in the preparatory meetings for the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa,Ethiopia, on October 6 under the auspices of the African Union.
In a statement to Sudanohrizon , news website, Sisi said that the Sudanese National Forces have reservations about the invitation and the way it was extended by the African Union, adding, “It is very difficult for us to attend a meeting whose agenda we did not participate in developing, and about which we know neither the participants nor the method or approach that will be used.”
He added that, “We will first inquire with the Union about all these matters, and if the response is not satisfactory, we will not attend these meetings.”
The head of the National Forces for Change pointed out that there is no problem to sit down and talks directly with “Sumoud” group, saying, “We have previously met with Sumoud in Switzerland in informal meetings, but the main problem was
He argued who the participants will be, the criteria for selecting the parties, and our role in developing the agenda.” He added, “It is only logical, at least, that we know who we will be meeting with.” He explained that there were very serious mistakes in the two previous Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue meetings in Addis Ababa, and that these mistakes are being repeated for the third time, which will lead to no results.
Regarding the meeting between the UN Secretary-General’s representative, Ramtane Lamamra, and the transitional government, Sisi pointed out that Lamamra’s meeting with the Presidential Council of the transitional government implicitly constitutes recognition of this government, despite the UN’s stated rejection of it. He also referred to Lamamra’s meeting with national political forces in Port Sudan (last Monday), saying that Lamamra should have started his meetings in Port Sudan, not the other way around.
