Significant Operational Activity at Osman Digna Port

Port Sudan’s Prince Osman Digna Port, on the Red Sea, has witnessed significant operational activity in June, with a notable increase in passenger and cargo traffic.
The port received 48 ships and recorded a total of 26,142 passengers, along with a rise in import and export figures, reflecting the continued efficiency of port operations.
Monthly statistics for the period from June 1 to 30, 2026, showed that the number of arriving passengers reached 17,231, while the number of departing passengers reached 8,911, bringing the total passenger traffic to 26,142.
Regarding vehicle traffic, the port received 3,980 imported vehicles and saw 201 departing vehicles, bringing the total vehicle traffic for the month to 4,181.
Shipping and customs clearance activity was also significant, with 712 refrigerated trucks arriving and 435 departing, totaling 1,147. Customs clearance procedures totaled 309 for imports and 160 for exports, for a combined total of 469 clearances.
In the cargo sector, 6,244 pallets were imported and 3 for export, bringing the total to 6,247 pallets. The port also processed 70 outgoing trailers and issued 225 baggage tickets for passengers during the period.
These indicators reflect the high level of activity at Prince Osman Digna Port during June and its continued role in serving passenger traffic and maritime trade, thus contributing to the smooth flow of import and export operations through the port.
