SFA Sets Date for Sudanese Elite League

The Sudanese Football Association officially announced on Wednesday the start of the elite phase of the Premier League on Friday, July 4. The competition will be held in a single round-robin format to determine the clubs representing Sudan in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup competitions for the next season.

According to the association’s management, this step comes in light of the exceptional circumstances facing the country. The association called on all clubs to cooperate and work in a sportsmanlike spirit to ensure the success of the competition.

Last Saturday, the River Nile State government announced its commitment to providing the competition stadiums and other arenas in the cities of Al-Damar and Atbara, with participating clubs covering accommodation, subsistence, and transportation costs.

Subsequently, Al-Hilal, Al-Merreikh, and Al-Ahly Madani clubs began booking hotels and stadiums, and Al-Hilal’s management announced the gathering of players in Port Sudan in preparation for travel to Al-Damar.

The participating clubs in the tournament are Al-Hilal, Al-Merreikh, Al-Ahly Madani, Al-Wadi Nyala, Al-Merreikh Al-Abyad, Al-Zamaleh Umm Ruwaba, Al-Amal Atbara, and Al-Mirghani Kassala.
