Seizing Chemicals Harmful to the Environment in South Kordufan

The Security Services in Al -Liri Province, South Kordufan State, have seized chemical materials harmful to the environment which entered the country from one of the neighboring country on their way to the Taloudi Province where they would be used in traditional mining sector. The seized materials include 14 Thiourea, 5 bags of carbon, one sack of boric acid and 3 caustic soda containers.
The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company has initiated legal procedures against the accused, confirming its keenness for the environment’s safety and the people’s health in the production areas.
The Director of the company’s branch in South Kordufan, Engineer Warsha Nasser Warsha, has commended the alertness of the security services that apprehended the accused and seized the material, led by Major Saleh Abdul Jalil, Director of the Liri Security Unit and Captain Omar Al -Tijani, Director of Mineral Security in the state. The Director has underlined that he would provide every needed assistance and coordination with the security services so that they can carry out their duties and maintain the safety of the country and its resources.
For his part, the acting Executive Director of Al –Liri Province, Siddiq Babiker Rahal, has praised the great efforts made by the Sudanese Company for Mineral Resources and Security Services to maintain the health and safety of people in the region and thanked the Security Services that carried out the operation of seizing the chemicals that are harmful to the environment and public health.
