River Nile State Reviews Arrangements to Receive Darfur Students for Upcoming Exams

The committee tasked with receiving and hosting male and female students from Darfur states who will sit for the 2026 Sudanese secondary school certificate exams in River Nile State held a meeting today, chaired by Ahmed Hamid Ahmed Yass, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Guidance in the state.
The meeting discussed several agenda items, focusing on statistics of students who have already arrived from Darfur states to River Nile State, whose number has so far exceeded 1,600 students, in addition to supervisors and accompanying staff. The arrival of students is expected to continue until the start of exams on April 13.
The meeting also addressed urgent requirements that need to be arranged and provided in coordination with the Teachers’ Trade Union in the state, to ensure the availability of sufficient beds, mattresses, and other necessities such as water containers, related supplies, cleaning materials, and the preparation of proposed accommodation sites.
Acting Minister of Education and Guidance in the state, Ahmed Hamid, affirmed that all requirements and observations discussed will be presented at the meeting of the Higher Committee for Examinations in the state, with a focus on security and health-related needs within student accommodation camps and examination centers.
Representatives of the Darfur states expressed their deep appreciation to the government and people of River Nile State for hosting Darfur students for the third consecutive year, affirming their full readiness to cooperate with the committee to ensure optimal conditions for the students.
