The Transitional Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, has directed the establishment of a Foreign Relations Council comprising ambassadors, experts, specialised academics, and representatives from relevant institutions. The council will assist in decision-making and the formulation of a strategic vision for foreign relations. It will also utilise ambassadors and diplomatic personnel who were forced to remain abroad due to the war, engaging them through secure virtual platforms and enrolling them in specialised training programs.
This directive was issued during the Prime Minister’s meeting in Port Sudan on Wednesday, attended by Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, Acting Minister and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Idris Ismail, Director General of European and American Affairs at the Ministry.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin presented an overview of the current situation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the ministry’s efforts to strengthen Sudan’s relations with various countries worldwide and outlining the priorities of Sudanese foreign policy during the recent period.
