PM to Deliver Speech Featuring the Cabinet Setup and Executive Priorities

Media circles have been eagerly awaiting a televised speech from the Transitional Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, in which he is forecast to announce details of the Council of Ministers) and its priorities for the upcoming phase.
Social media has been rife with speculation since news of the televised speech was leaked earlier Tuesday, as several leaders from the Ministry of Information are stationed at the temporary headquarters of the General Authority for Radio and Television in Port Sudan.
Well-informed sources told Sudanhorizon news site that the Transitional Prime Minister will announce a new structure for the state’s executive body-the Council of Ministers- having reached satisfactory understandings with the “Juba Peace” group that maintain the spirit of the agreement.
The development comes in light of the Prime Minister’s decision to reduce the number of ministerial posts and to reorganize, merge, and affiliate some government units and authorities with existing ministries.
The sources did not, however, rule out that the step following the Prime Minister’s speech today could be the appointment of several ministers at the heads of the new ministries, adding that the Prime Minister may postpone the appointment of certain ministers to specific ministries pending further consultations.
