PM: The World is Silent Toward the “Gross Crimes” in El Fasher

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
Prime Minister Dr Kamil Idris has described the international community’s silence towards the siege imposed on El Fasher as a “major crime,” noting that history will note this silence.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the death of civilians in El Fasher at every moment under the siege is completely unacceptable and must be rejected by the international community as well.
In a joint interview with the Sudan News Agency, and The Sudan Radio and Television Corporation, Idris highlighted the government’s efforts to convince the international community to take action and end the siege on the city.
He affirmed his confidence that El Fasher will withstand the attacks by the militias, and that the siege will be lifted in the coming days.
Idris revealed that his government is communicating with the Colombian Prime Minister to intervene to stop the participation of Colombian mercenaries fighting alongside the militia in El Fasher.
He explained that this move received positive response from the Colombian Prime Minister and his Foreign Minister. He pointed out that the government has adopted a direct approach to addressing the Colombian people through public opinion, rather than relying solely on traditional diplomatic channels, which sometimes yield no positive results. He emphasized that this speech aims to break the wall of international silence by directly addressing the countries concerned, their peoples, and their nation.
