Olympic Committee President Travels to Doha to Offer Condolences on Behalf of Sudanese Athletes

The President of the Sudanese Olympic Committee and Secretary General of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), Engineer Ahmed Abu Al-Qasim, arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, early morning Wednesday to offer condolences on the death of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Abu Al-Qasim is offering condolences on behalf of the Sudanese and African sports and Olympic community, expressing his sympathy to the State of Qatar, its leadership, government, and people, and to the ruling family, on this loss.
A statement issued by the Committee said that Abu Al-Qasim will emphasize during the visit the sports community’s appreciation for the role played by the Father Emir in the development and progress of the State of Qatar, his contributions to serving Arab and Islamic causes, and the enduring legacy he left behind.
This step comes within the framework of the fraternal relations that unite Sudan and the State of Qatar, and reflects the Sudanese Olympic Committee’s keenness to share in the joys and sorrows of its brothers in Qatar, and to consolidate the values of solidarity and communication between the sports and Olympic institutions in the two nations.
