The Anti-Smuggling Administration in Sudan’s Northern State, in coordination with the security cell and the Public Prosecution, carried out a high-quality operation that resulted in the seizure of large quantities of weapons, equipment, and prohibited materials, following a raid on warehouses in the Al-Ghaba area of the Northern State.

The Sudan News Agency reported that the seized items included a drone and a control device, seven artillery pieces of various types, in addition to sniper rifles, pistols, and large quantities of ammunition of different calibers. The haul also included 60 B10 shells, hand grenades, weapon magazines, wireless communication devices—including Starlink equipment—black-market U.S. dollars, four unregistered vehicles, as well as various other equipment and tools.

The forces also seized ten barrels containing highly dangerous chemical substances, namely ethyl acetate and ceritol. These materials are used in illegal activities such as currency counterfeiting, illicit printing operations, commercial fraud, and food adulteration, posing a direct threat to economic and public health security.

The Director General of the Sudan Customs Forces, Police Lieutenant General Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, praised the achievement, describing the operation as a qualitative success that reflects the high efficiency of the anti-smuggling forces. He expressed his full confidence in the readiness and deployment of anti-smuggling units across all states of the country. Police Major General (Legal Affairs) Jamal Al-Awad Al-Amin, Assistant Director General for Anti-Smuggling, also commended the performance of the Northern State forces, affirming that the achievement demonstrates a high level of vigilance and professionalism.

For his part, Police Brigadier Atef Al-Radi, Director of the Anti-Smuggling Administration in the Northern State, explained that the operation was the result of careful monitoring and precise tracking of smugglers’ movements.

He noted that all necessary legal procedures have been taken regarding the seized items, and reaffirmed the readiness and constant preparedness of his forces to secure the state’s borders and confront all forms of smuggling that threaten the country’s security and stability.
