National Forces Refuse to Sign Joint Statement with Sumoud

Addis Ababa – Sudanhorizon
Mohamed Sid Ahmed Seralkhatim Al-Jakoumi, the coordinator of the national forces participating in the African Union and IGAD meetings to resolve the Sudanese crisis, revealed that their group has refused to sign a joint statement with the Sumoud group.
Al-Jakoumi confirmed that Samoud’s position, which supports the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia, does not provide an opportunity to sit with them at the same dialogue table, let alone sign a joint statement with them.
A group of Sudanese political forces is participating in consultative meetings in Addis Ababa, sponsored by the African Union and IGAD, to discuss preparing for the Sudanese political process, which will later be launched through a Sudanese-Sudanese civil dialogue. The first preparatory meeting began last July.
