National Forces Coordination Secretary: We Call for SAF’s Monopoly on Violence

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon – Mariam Abashar
The Secretary-General of the Coordination of National Forces, Mohamed Sir Al-Khatem (Al-Jakomi), has congratulated the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), the regular forces, and the supporting forces, for the victories they scored at all scenes of operations, stressing that the Sudanese are nowadays relishing the joy brought by the victories of their forces, cleaning of Khartoum, Gezira and Sinnar from the defilement of the rebel militia.
Al-Jakoumi has pointed out in a statement to Sudanhorizon news website that the coming period will witness the preparations for the tiebreaker in Darfur, pointing out that what SAF and supporting forces have achieved was planned and tactically implemented, showing the capabilities of the Sudanese Military College in training and preparing officers and fighters.
He added that the Sudanese Military Academy has proven that there was no other alternative to the Sudanese army except the Sudanese army itself and that no matter how much any armed militia thinks it will triumph over the army, victory will ultimately be on the side of the Sudanese Armed Forces.
The Secretary-General of the Coordination of National Forces expressed his conviction that the current Sudan war will be the last war, saluting on behalf of the national forces, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, the President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fatah Al-Burhan, the leaders of the armed forces, the leaders of the Sovereign Council, ministers, police forces, the General Intelligence Service and all the forces that have been supporting the legitimacy of the Sudanese state.
Al-Jakoumi has meanwhile appealed returning to ancient national flag of Sudan, the flag raised when independence was declared back in 1956, which was raised by the founding fathers of independence, led by the man who hoisted the first flag Ismail Al-Azhari.
He said that after cleaning the country, the state’s monopoly on violence must return and that the monopoly of weapons be in the hands of the the armed people’s forces, police and intelligence only, and demanded that the army command disarm all supporting forces through security arrangements, and that the process of monopolizing weapons begins in the areas that have been liberated as Khartoum, Gezira, White Nile, Sinnar, and areas that were not affected by the war, which are the states of the Nile River and the Northern.
The Secretary-General of the National Forces said weapons must be placed in the armed forces and all supporting forces must be integrated into one armed force, and called on the armed forces and the forces supporting them to prepare to head towards Darfur and Kordofan to put an end the militias once and for all.
Al-Jakoumi appealed to all political forces to unite their ranks, overcome differences, and work to preserve national cohesion. He also called on the leadership of the Sovereign Council – after the amendments made to the constitutional document – to work on naming the civilian prime minister and choosing a new government that can carry out the tasks of the transitional period and its required reconstruction and activities on national cohesion.
