Musa Hilal: U.S. Bargaining Over Council Chairman’s Visa Is a Cheap Tactic

Chairman of the Revolutionary Awakening Council, Sheikh Musa Hilal, described the U.S. administration’s reported attempt to condition the issuance of a visa for Sovereignty Council Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to travel to and participate in the United Nations General Assembly meetings on accepting a truce as “naive and cheap.”

He noted that the international assessment of such a bargain would ultimately be in the interest of Sudan, the Sudanese people, and the Sovereignty Council Chairman.

Hilal made the remarks following a meeting with Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris in Khartoum today, Thursday, with a delegation from the Revolutionary Awakening Council headed by Sheikh Musa Hilal.

In a press statement, Hilal said the meeting discussed general national issues with political and security dimensions. He stressed the importance of national unity, preserving the country’s resources and capabilities, and emerging victorious from the current crisis, particularly as signs of victory have begun to appear on the horizon.

Hilal said the reported bargain would lead the Sudanese people and everyone advocating for Sudan’s national interests at the regional and international levels to stand behind Sudan. He added: “This bargain has increased the Sudanese people’s support for His Excellency the Sovereignty Council Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.”
