Washington – October 25, 2025

U.S. Presidential Adviser for African Affairs Mousad Boulos indicated that the Quartet Mechanism remains committed to the roadmap for Sudan that was proposed on September 12.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Boulos revealed that the Quartet meetings held in Washington on Friday resulted in the establishment of a Joint Operations Committee to enhance coordination on urgent priorities aimed at ending the crisis in Sudan.

He noted that the meeting was dedicated to advancing collective efforts toward achieving peace and stability in Sudan, including securing an immediate humanitarian truce, reaching a permanent ceasefire, halting external support, and advancing the transition to civilian governance.

Boulos added that participants reaffirmed their commitment to the ministerial statement issued on September 12, referring to the Quartet’s proposed roadmap to resolve the Sudanese crisis.

The Quartet Mechanism, on September 12, had outlined a roadmap to end the conflict in Sudan, which included:

– Securing a three-month humanitarian truce,

– Followed by a permanent ceasefire,

– And initiating a political process leading to civilian rule.
