The Sudanese Ministry of Finance has announced the launch of “Itizan,” a system dedicated to preparing the state’s general budget.
Mohammed Nour Abdel-Daim, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, has confirmed that the Ministry has initiated practical steps to launch the “Itizan” system. During a meeting with the Ministry’s Undersecretary and directors of general departments, he explained that the system covers the entire budget process—from estimates, data entry, and registration to execution and analysis.
Abdel-Daim noted that the system is part of the state budget reform initiative, highlighting that the Ministry has been actively pursuing financial reforms that are currently well underway. He added that the system enhances internationally required transparency and supports development and funding from international development institutions. Furthermore, it strengthens sound financial governance and integrity while ensuring the timely availability of data for necessary analysis.
He also clarified that the system does not operate in isolation but integrates with other systems within a comprehensive electronic framework.
The Minister of State emphasized that the new system enables the Ministry of Finance to fulfill its role in overseeing public funds and to improve transparency and sound financial governance across the state.
