Ministry of Finance Forms Committee to Identify Needs, Enhance Coordination with UNICEF

Mohamed Ali Juma, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, has approved the formation of a specialized committee tasked with identifying final needs and strengthening direct coordination mechanisms with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
This directive was issued during an expanded meeting held by the Undersecretary with UNICEF representatives on Thursday, attended by the Director General of the General Administration for External Financing and several other directors from the Ministry.
Juma commended the organization’s efforts during the third quarter of 2026 and its contribution to implementing the Sudanese government’s priorities within its areas of expertise. He emphasized the importance of further developing programs and elevating the level of coordination between the organization and relevant stakeholders.
For their part, UNICEF representatives reviewed the objectives achieved during the third quarter and outlined ongoing plans to address challenges encountered in the field. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue supporting targeted sectors in line with approved government priorities.
