Ministry of Finance: Draft Public Finance Law Completed in Line with International Standards

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning announced that it has prepared a draft Public Finance Law.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdullah Ibrahim, confirmed that the draft is in its final stages and nearing completion after fulfilling all preparation requirements in accordance with the Public Finance Reform Roadmap agreed upon with the World Bank mission since 2021. This ensures that the draft is aligned with internationally recognized standards in this field.
In a press statement today, the Undersecretary explained that the draft was discussed and consulted upon with relevant national experts who possess extensive experience and practical expertise in public finance. Consultations were also held with specialists from the Middle East Technical Assistance Center (METAC), affiliated with the International Monetary Fund, and the draft incorporated observations provided by the IMF during its preparation stages.
He praised the team responsible for preparing the draft, including staff from the Ministry of Finance, relevant competent bodies, and national experts, describing the outcomes of their work as unprecedented. He noted that the draft reflects the efficiency and capabilities of Sudanese cadres and their deep understanding of public finance challenges and reform requirements.
