Minister of Finance Calls for the Closure of the Adre Border Crossing with Chad

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Minister of Finance, Jibril Ibrahim, has called to close the Adre border crossing with Chad.
In a post on platform X, Jibril stated, “The West and its organisations worked hard to open the Adre crossing for humanitarian purposes, but it has turned into a major crossing for supplying militias with lethal weapons. This crossing must be closed today, not tomorrow.”
On Saturday, the Sudanese government announced the opening of six airports and seven land crossings to facilitate the movement of international organisations and allow humanitarian aid to enter the country.
The government has approved the opening of the airports in Kassala, Dongola, El-Obeid, and Kadugli.
In mid-August, the Sovereignty Council announced the opening of the Adre border crossing with Chad for a period of three months to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
