MASHAD: The Voices of Sudanese Victims Heard in Geneva

Geneva – Sudanhorizon

The Sudanese human rights organization MASHAD announced its participation in the 59th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page on Thursday and seen by Sudanhorizon, the organization said it is participating in the meeting with an official delegation led by Mr. Babiker Adam Yahya, the director of the organization’s office in Switzerland. It noted that this comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to amplify the voices of victims and intensify the spotlight on the horrific humanitarian tragedy taking place in Sudan and across the African continent.

The statement continued: “This participation expresses MASHAD’s moral and humanitarian commitment to advocating for human rights and demanding that the international community assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities regarding the widespread violations taking place in Sudan, including killing, rape, mass displacement, deliberate starvation, and the direct targeting of civilians and health and humanitarian facilities.”
