Major Campaign to Combat Disease Vectors Launched in Khartoum State

The major campaign to combat disease vectors was launched today, Saturday, at the premises of the General Secretariat of the Government of Khartoum State, for the localities of Khartoum State, under the slogan “Continuous Control… for Stable Health,” under the patronage of the Acting Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and in the presence of Vice Admiral Engineer Advisor Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, member of the Sovereignty Council, and the Governor of Khartoum State, Mr. Ahmed Othman Hamza.
Vice Admiral Ibrahim Jaber expressed his pride in the “white army” and his happiness at the launch, noting that this step brings reassurance to citizens. He praised the mobile laboratories affiliated with the Stac Laboratory and emphasized the importance of providing medical services in the current circumstances. He affirmed that all of Sudan participated in the Battle of Dignity, praised the Sudanese people and thanked all partners, calling on citizens to return and considering that the time for work has come.
The Acting Federal Minister of Health explained that the campaign is one of the basic pillars for preparing for the return and will extend for three months. It covers seven localities, twenty-four administrative units, and one thousand nine hundred and eighty neighborhoods, with the participation of two thousand five hundred staff and workers. He indicated that the campaign is fully supported by the Federal Ministry of Finance and includes the provision of pesticides, basic supplies, inputs, and operations, in addition to the launch of laboratory vehicles affiliated with the Esnak Laboratory, with support from the World Health Organization and IGAD. He confirmed that the campaign will start from Khartoum and include other states.
The Governor of Khartoum State offered greetings to the workers participating in the campaign and thanked the federal and state ministries of health for their efforts during the previous period, noting that the current stage is a stage of reconstruction. He praised the Supreme Committee of the Environment Authority and pointed to the great challenges facing the state. He expressed his gratitude to the Sovereignty Council for issuing Decision No. 153 regarding improving the environment in Khartoum State under the chairmanship of Vice Admiral Ibrahim Jaber.
The Director General of Health in the state, Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Al-Amin, pointed to the efforts of the medical staff and their continued work during the war period, confirming the state’s great need for this campaign, which is an important step towards improving the health situation and combating epidemics.
