Libyan Supreme Council: Haftar’s Intervention in Sudan a War Crime Rejected by Libyans

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Musa
Ms. Amna Amtir, member of the Libyan Supreme Council of State, has confirmed that the participation of Khalifa Haftar’s forces alongside the Rapid Support Forces militia in the attack against the border triangle between Sudan, Egypt, and Libya, does not come as a surprise.
Amtir said in an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon news website that Haftar’s forces and the Rapid Support Forces receive support from one and the same state, and therefore the matter is not surprising.
She added that if the Sudanese army proves this intervention, it should go to the International Court of Justice.
She pointed out that what is happening constitutes genocide and a war crime against a peaceful people, and that the Sudanese people are very peaceful indeed.
She emphasized that the Libyan people reject this intervention.
Amtir considered any country’s interference in the affairs of another country to be a form of aggression, emphasizing that it poses a threat to the entire region. She said that if the forces dare to do so once, they will repeat it again, even in other countries.
