Kurmuk Commissioner: SAF Thwarts Attack by Forces Coming from within Ethiopia, Forces them to Flee

Abdul-Ati Mohamed Al-Faki, the Commissioner of the Sudanese Al-Kurmuk area in the Blue Nile Region, has confirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has repelled forces that attacked Mount Kadam area—located on the eastern axis of the locality—in an operation he described as “specialized.”
In an exclusive statement Al-Faki said that SAF has been monitoring the hostile groups arriving from Ethiopia—which had launched an attack on Mount Kadam yesterday—and were fully prepared to engage the attackers. He noted that Mount Kadam is a strategic area connecting the Qaysan and Al-Kurmuk localities and hosting several agricultural projects.
Meanwhile, the Al-Kurmuk local government announced that SAF and supporting units successfully executed a specialized operation at Mount Kadam, inflicting heavy losses in both personnel and equipment upon the attacking forces.
In a statement issued by its media office today (Saturday), the local government said the operation was carried out “by the grace of God and the determination of the men,” reiterating that the Armed Forces and their allies inflicted severe casualties and material losses on the enemy.
The statement added that, during the operation, the forces destroyed several combat vehicles, while the remnants of the targeted forces fled toward the Ethiopian border. The statement saluted the Armed Forces and supporting units, affirming their vital role in protecting the homeland and safeguarding the land and the honor of the people.
