Cairo – Azmi Abdel Razek
Dr. Osman Mohamed Youssef Kibir, the acting Chairman of the National Congress Party’s Shura Council, has described the change that occurred on April 11, 2019, as a “coup orchestrated by the regime’s security committee.”
Kibir acknowledged that there was a popular movement at the time, but said it would not have brought down the regime.
In an interview with Sudanhorizon news website, to be published later, Kabir added that the recent leadership disputes within the NCP would be overcome through the party’s institutions, most notably the Shura Council. He added that the party will remain united but declined to delve into the details of these disputes.
Regarding the situation in El Fashir and the talisman behind its resilience, Kibir cited a number of previously unknown considerations, the details of which will be included in the interview. He also spoke about the importance of working within the community in the current and future phases, emphasizing the importance of this as the most effective way to mitigate the effects of war on social coexistence in Sudan.
Kibir wished the new Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, success in his new assignment, considering his mission difficult but not impossible. He offered several advices in this regard and touched on other issues, the details of which will be included in the full text of the interview.
