Khartoum Airport Resumes Domestic Flights Starting Wednesday

Sudanhorizon – Khartoum
The Civil Aviation Authority announced on Monday the resumption of domestic flights at Khartoum International Airport starting next Wednesday.
In a statement, the Authority said it had issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) announcing the reopening of Khartoum International Airport for domestic flights beginning Wednesday, October 22, in accordance with approved operational procedures.
The statement noted that this decision confirms the airport’s readiness to gradually receive flights following the completion of necessary technical and operational arrangements.
Khartoum Airport had suffered extensive destruction during the war, as it was among the first sites attacked by the Rapid Support Forces militia in the early hours of the conflict on April 15, 2023.
Authorities have since worked to rehabilitate the airport after the army regained control of Khartoum State last May. Extensive restoration efforts have been carried out on service buildings, the runway, and security and safety facilities.
