Joint Forces Spokesperson: No Presence in Khartoum, Full Coordination with Army
Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Moussa
The official spokesperson for the Joint Forces, Mutawakkil Ali Wakil, denied reports about the presence of Joint Forces positions inside the capital, Khartoum.
In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Wakil said that their forces are currently located outside Khartoum and are positioned on the front lines in Kordofan and desert areas. He explained that the force that reached Khartoum did so with the knowledge of the command and control authorities and in coordination with the armed forces, emphasizing that the Joint Forces are not present in the city at this time.
Wakil pointed out that the Rapid Support Forces militia has recently been active in spreading media propaganda and malicious rumors through closed channels, with support from certain groups, including the Forces of Freedom and Change, aiming to influence the general situation. He stressed that the Joint Forces operate in full harmony and coordination with the armed forces, and that all their movements are carried out according to directives issued by the state’s command and control center.
He added that the Rapid Support Forces militia has failed to achieve any victories on the fronts of Kordofan, North Darfur, and Al-Tina, and is attempting to turn this failure into confusion through rumors in order to create division between the armed forces and the Joint Forces, stressing that these attempts will not succeed.
Wakil affirmed that the Joint Forces stand alongside the armed forces and all supporting units in complete unity and cohesion, with the aim of liberating the remaining areas of Kordofan and Darfur. He also noted that the defection of leader Al-Nour Al-Guba from the Rapid Support Forces is one of the reasons behind the escalation of these rumors, due to the impact his departure has had in creating a gap and decline within their ranks.
Wakil concluded by emphasizing that the Joint Forces are above being drawn into strife, intrigue, and conspiracies.
