Joint Forces Inflict Heavy losses on RSF Militia in Al-Tina Area

The Joint Force of the Armed Movements in Darfur on Monday announced that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia have suffered heavy losses after an attack they led at the town of Tina was repelled. Tina town is located on the western border of North Darfur State with Chad.

The spokesperson for the Joint Force, Mutawakil Ali Wakil, stated in a press release that “the Armed Forces (SAF), the Joint Force, and the Popular Resistance were able this morning to repel a treacherous attack launched by the rebel militia on the Al-Tina area in North Darfur State.”

He explained that the attacking force suffered heavy losses in equipment and personnel, including the destruction of approximately three combat groups with 57 vehicles and their crews, in addition to seizing  39 vehicles in good condition and fully equipped.

He indicated that the operation resulted in the death of the attack commander, the neutralization of a large number of RSF members, while the remnants fled the battle field beyond the area’s borders.

Platforms close to the joint force broadcast videos showing the destruction of numerous combat vehicles and the capture of others in good condition, along with the neutralization of dozens of fighters.

The border town of Al-Tina stands out as a major flashpoint due to its strategic location and its importance as a trade and humanitarian corridor between Darfur and eastern Chad.
