Iranian Shura Council Speaker: What is Happening in Sudan is an External Conspiracy

The Sudanese Foreign Minister, Dr. Ali Youssef, had a productive discussion on Monday in Tehran, at the beginning of his visit to Iran, with the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council, Mohammad Baqer, on the cooperation and relations between the two countries, in the presence of a number of members of the Iranian parliament.

 

The Speaker of the Council welcomed the Minister and his accompanying delegation and expressed his happiness with the development of Sudanese-Iranian relations and the reopening of the embassies of the two countries.

 

The Iranian official expressed his regret for the war and instability taking place in Sudan, considering it “the result of external conspiracies being hatched against it.”

 

For his part, the Minister – who arrived in Tehran on Sunday evening – expressed his happiness with visiting Iran and congratulated the Speaker of the Council on the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Iranian Revolution. The Minister provided a detailed explanation of the developments in Sudan, and thanked Iran for its support for Sudan, expressing his hope that it would have a prominent role in the reconstruction phase in Sudan.
