Inflation Soars to 83.47% in September

The inflation rate jumped to 83.47% in September, compared to 83.05% in August and 78.39% in July, an increase of 5.7%.

The monthly report on commodity and service price indices and the annual rate of change (inflation), issued Thursday by the Central Statistics Agency, indicated that the inflation rate for imported goods reached 63.24%, compared to 71.37% in August and 76.39% in July.

The report confirmed that the education group contributed the highest percentage, at 234.65%, compared to 187.96% in August, followed by the communications group, at 225.09%, compared to 231.36%.

North Darfur State recorded the highest inflation rate once again, reaching 338.84%, compared to approximately 340% in August.

It was followed by Gezira State, which scored 180.84%, River Nile State, which recorded 145.55%, and Khartoum State, which recorded 132.86%, compared to 111.08% in August.
