Humanitarian Crisis in Al Fashir and Kadugli a Priority

Port Sudan: Sudanhorizon-SUNA
The High Committee for Coordination with the United Nations, during its regular meeting on Monday, chaired by Sovereign Council member and Assistant Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber, directed that the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis in Al Fashir and Kadugli be prioritized in subcommittees’ communications and media activity.
The crisis, the committee noted, stems from the siege imposed by the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Militia on Al Fashir in North Darfur, and by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu’s faction, on Kadugli in South Kordofan.
During the meeting, the new members were debriefed on the tasks of the National Committee and the reasons for its establishment. The ongoing preparations for the (60) session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva were discussed, as well as arrangements for Sudan’s participation in the (80) session of the United Nations General Assembly, coming September.
The meeting said good coordination between all relevant parties be followed to ensure the success of the Committee’s tasks.
