Government Official: Militia Commits Gross Humanitarian Violations

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon – Maryam Absher
The Sudanese government has reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need across various states in Sudan.
The Director-General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Anas Al-Tayeb Al-Jailani, told Sudanhorizon that the government receives humanitarian supplies from a large number of international and regional organizations, in addition to the significant efforts made by national organizations. Ambassador Anas added that the government has fulfilled its pledge to open land, air, and sea corridors and crossings, despite the gross violations and breaches committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia at some crossings, particularly the Adré border crossing with Chad. He described the militia’s recent diversion of trucks carrying humanitarian supplies for an international organization as part of the extensive violations perpetrated by the rebel militia.
He pointed out that the relevant government authorities are granting permits and facilitating procedures for all organizations involved in delivering humanitarian aid to those affected.
Ambassador Anas also mentioned that the government has formed a high-level committee to meticulously monitor the violations committed by the militia and to submit reports to the relevant United Nations mechanisms and embassies after translating them into all necessary languages.
