Gezira State Governor Stresses Importance of Partnership with Bank of Khartoum

The Governor of Gezira State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, has underlined the need for strengthening partnership with Bank of Khartoum in order to implement financing policies aimed at advancing productive sectors and supporting agricultural and economic development projects in the state, thus contributing to achieving stability and sustainable development.

In a meeting with the CEO of Bank of Khartoum, Limia Sati, at his office in Medani on Monday , the Governor affirmed that the state is steadily moving forwards to full normalization of life and restoring economic activity.

He praised the national and supportive role played by Bank of Khartoum during the Battle of Dignity , emphasizing that the bank’s contributions, particularly in the areas of bank transfers and the provision of banking services, had a clear impact on supporting social stability and facilitating the lives of citizens during the war.

For her part, the CEO of Bank of Khartoum, Ms. Sati, debriefed the meeting about the bank’s plan to open more branches in the State to bring banking services closer to citizens and expand financial inclusion.

She explained that the bank gives special attention to financing productive sectors through its financing policies, particularly through the “Irada” Finance Company, noting that it has financed approximately 100,000 acres in the Gezira Scheme, which enhances agricultural production and supports the local economy.

Sati added that the meeting with the governor addressed the possibility of establishing Khartoum Bank warehouses in Gezira State, in addition to setting up a separate headquarters for the Irada Finance Company, which would contribute to expanding banking services and improving financial performance in the state.

The CEO of Khartoum Bank was accompanied by a number of department managers from the bank. Also present at the meeting was the manager of Khartoum Bank’s Wad Medani branch, Huwaida Mohamed Al-Hassan.
