Former Justice Minister Urges PM to Form Committee for Legislative Review and Supreme Judicial Council Proposals

Cairo – Sudanhorizon
Former Minister of Justice, Judge Dr. Awad Al-Hassan Al-Nur, called on Transitional Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris to “form a legislative committee of legal experts and specialists in each subject and to expedite the submission of draft laws related to the Supreme Judicial Council and its formation.”
Dr. Awad Al-Hassan added, in an article published by the Sudanese Almohagig news website in the “Opinion” section, that “it is necessary to issue legislation related to the return to normal life and reconstruction by automating transactions, whether in judicial institutions—as was initiated during the era of the late Professor Haider Dafallah—and to issue this through temporary decrees. Governors and ministers should be required to be knowledgeable about technology to facilitate citizens’ lives, work to regulate this, and strive to eliminate the enormous amount of paperwork, receipts, and waiting for signatures. They should also work to propose legislation in the form of laws, regulations, or orders, calling for Sudan to return to recovery and development quickly.”
The former Minister of Justice addressed the relationship between government systems, whether centralized or federal, and the constitutional and judicial systems, as well as the impact this has on consolidating the values of justice and law enforcement. He reviewed the applications of this under the constitutional systems to which the Sudanese have been subject.
