Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

A report issued today, on Sunday, by the Ministry of Culture and Information revealed several achievements made at the state level, despite the war conditions the country is going through.

The report said that the Ministry of Industry succeeded in covering 77% of consumption from local flour production by producing 3,850 tons in 13 mills.

A report on the performance of the Sudanese government during the past period revealed that other mills will enter the production cycle next October.

According to the report, the number of oil presses in the safe states recorded 143 presses producing 172,363 tons and contributing to covering 69% of local consumption.

The government confirmed the resumption of work in 4 cement factories in River Nile State, with work on operating other factories and continuing procedures in the field of pharmaceutical industries in the Andalus Industrial Zone.

In turn, the Ministry of Agriculture revealed the production of about 4.1 million tons of food grains in the country in cooperation with the FAO.

Corn production reached 3 million tons, while wheat production recorded 377 thousand tons and millet production recorded 680 thousand tons.

The Ministry of Agriculture has identified 37 million acres for agriculture and the provision of agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizers and pesticides), noting that these efforts are being hampered by the Rapid Support Militia by looting agricultural tractors and sabotaging the agricultural season by looting and destroying projects in the areas of Sennar, Rahad and Suki.

The report, presented by the Ministry of Information, indicated that about 80% of the oil pipeline maintenance work has been completed, amid expectations of the imminent return of pumping from South Sudan’s oil fields.

The report indicated the stability of the electricity supply in most states, except for Darfur states, where the generating stations have stopped due to the Rapid Support Militia’s control over those stations and preventing maintenance teams from reaching them, while the Ministry of Energy and Oil confirmed the provision of supplies to the hydropower generating stations in Merowe, Atbara State, Roseiros, Sennar and Khashm Al-Girba.
