Finance Ministry Submits 3RD Voluntary National Report on SDG to Prime Minister

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has confirmed its commitment to previously agreed timetable for submitting the third voluntary national report on sustainable development goals (SDG) on time to the relevant authorities.
It noted that the ministry would first submit the report to the Prime Minister, Dr. Kamel Idris.
The Planning Undersecretary at the ministry, Dr. Mohamed Bashar, has stated that the report contained accurate information and data for each sector, focusing on the goals that represent Sudan’s current priorities, namely, food security – health – education – water – electricity.
Bashar explained that the sectoral reports reflected the priorities of reconstruction and how to implement them and mobilize internal and external resources, including grants and loans for the execution.
It is noteworthy that voluntary reports at the global level must reflect the countries’ positions in achieving all the sustainable development goals (2015-2030); while the United Nations has traditionally focused each year on five goals. This year’s goals focuses on: good health and well-being
(Goal three), gender equality (goal five), decent work and economic growth (goal eight), life below water (goal fourteen), and partnerships for the goals (goal seventeen).
