Finance Ministry Launches New Electronic Platform

The Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Nour Abdel-Daim, announced the launching of an electronic platform for managing government entities and companies.

During an expanded meeting with representatives of public entities and government companies on Tuesday, the Minister of State explained that the platform aims to integrate with the state’s financial systems and will later be rolled out to the states. He added that it will also expedite addressing the challenges facing the electronic revenue collection system, which is considered a fundamental tool for maximizing revenues.

The Minister of State emphasized that the program for reforming public sector companies and entities is a national priority and directly linked to the state’s commitments regarding debt relief. He stressed the importance of building a unified system for managing company data and achieving transparency in commercial and financial performance.

The meeting reviewed the current budgets of the companies and compared them to the budgets for 2025 and 2026. It also discussed the situations of struggling companies and ways to address them, as well as expediting the restructuring of boards of directors to ensure institutional discipline and activate governance.

Nour emphasized the Ministry of Finance’s authority over public funds, mandating that companies adhere to approved financial and accounting procedures. He affirmed the use of legal powers to empower auditors and financial controllers before the approval of new budgets.

For her part, Asma Abdel Rahim, Director General of Government Agencies and Companies, stressed the importance of establishing direct communication channels with these entities to address obstacles and develop practical recommendations. She noted that the agenda included key items such as reviewing financial performance, regulations and controls, procurement and contracting procedures, and the electronic collection system. Additionally, a proposed integrated system covering the entire workflow, from budget preparation to final reports, was discussed.
