Finance Minister Says Challenges Facing Export and Import Be Removed

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Jibril Ibrahim, has given directive for developing urgent and immediate solutions to the current economic challenges facing the export and import sectors, along with formulating a comprehensive future strategy to boost the national economy.
During the team’s meeting at the Central Bank of Sudan on Wednesday, the Minister stressed the need to adopt clear policies to ensure the availability of all agricultural production inputs, encourage processing industries, and develop livestock products by enhancing the capabilities of slaughterhouses to increase the added value of national exports in line with global technologies and ensure the opening of new foreign markets to maximize national revenues.
The meeting also called for strengthening policies and controls to combat smuggling and tightening border crossings, while emphasizing the importance of building effective partnerships with the local private sector to support and protect national industries, and implementing a policy of rationalizing imports to ensure the availability of essential commodities in accordance with approved banking procedures and import regulations.
