Egyptian Foreign Minister Congratulates Sudanese Counterpart on Assuming New Position

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty called the new Sudanese Foreign Minister, Ambassador Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddiq, on Thursday to congratulate him on assuming his duties and discuss prospects for bilateral relations.

Abdel Aty emphasized the strong historical and fraternal relations between the two countries and peoples, emphasizing Egypt’s full support for the security, stability, unity, and territorial integrity of Sudan.

He also highlighted Egypt’s solidarity with Sudan during this critical period, stressing Egypt’s commitment to engaging with regional and international efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Sudanese people, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For his part, Sudanese Foreign Minister Ambassador Omar Siddiq appreciated the kind gesture of contact immediately after his appointment, expressing his great appreciation for the bilateral relations between the two countries and Egypt’s efforts to support Sudan. The two ministers agreed to intensify communication and consultations in the coming period.
