During a Stopover at Istanbul Airport: Prime Minister Holds Talks with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister

Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris held talks today (Saturday), during a stopover at Istanbul International Airport while en route to New York, with the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Musa Kulak Kaya, who conveyed to him the greetings of Turkey’s senior political leadership.
Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris praised President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his team, describing him as an inspiring leader of the nation, and requested that greetings and the gratitude of the Sudanese people be conveyed for the significant role played by the Turkish political leadership and the Turkish people in supporting their brothers in Sudan during this war.
In the same context, the Prime Minister invited the Turkish government to invest and engage in Sudanese–Qatari–Turkish trilateral partnerships in the Al-Hawad Agricultural Project, one of the largest agricultural projects, in addition to the new international airport project, the administrative capital, new medical cities, and productive youth housing projects. He also called for the rescheduling of Turkish debts owed by Sudan.
For his part, the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister pointed to the upcoming convening of the Joint Economic Committee meetings between the two countries, as well as the upgrading of the Higher Committee, to be co-chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris on the Sudanese side and Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of Turkey, on the Turkish side. He also stressed the importance of enhancing communication between the private sectors of the two brotherly countries.
The meeting was attended, alongside the Prime Minister, by his advisers and members of the Sudanese diplomatic missions in Ankara and Istanbul. On the Turkish side, it was attended by Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız, Turkey’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, and Ambassador Ali Onaner, Director General of the African Affairs Department at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
