Doctors: Militia killed 18 civilians during an incursion into in El Fasher

El Fasher – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Doctors’ Network said on Tuesday that the Rapid Support Forces militia killed at least 18 people during its incursion into a peripheral neighbourhood of El Fasher in North Darfur State, and abducted 14 others, including three girls, to an unknown location.
The network warned of the continued killings and abductions carried out by the militia against unarmed civilians inside residential neighbourhoods, and pointed to the severity of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in El Fasher, where heavy clashes, artillery shelling and drone strikes have continued for the second consecutive day, leading to a complete collapse of basic services and an unprecedented increase in civilian suffering.
The network noted that the latest escalation – involving militia elements infiltrating residential areas north of the city and committing killings and arbitrary arrests against civilians – poses a direct threat to the lives of residents and further exacerbates the humanitarian catastrophe.
It stressed that the continuation of this situation portends dire consequences, and called on the international community and humanitarian organisations to take urgent action to provide protection for civilians, ensure the safe delivery of medical and humanitarian aid, and to halt the fighting within residential neighbourhoods and civilian gathering sites.
