Demands for Dismissal of Livestock Bank Director and Formation of a Steering Committee
Sudanhorizon – Hala Hamza
The shareholders’ committee of the Animal Resources Bank has submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Finance, Jibril Ibrahim, demanding the dismissal of the bank’s general manager and the formation of an administrative committee to manage its affairs. The committee justified its request by stating that the ministry is now the largest shareholder following the Sovereign Council’s decision to confiscate all shares in favor of the Government of Sudan.
The memorandum included accusations against the Central Bank of Sudan for its involvement in violations affecting shareholders’ rights and state assets.
The committee further called for the formation of investigation teams from the National Audit Chamber and the Central Bank of Sudan to uncover what it described as irregularities and corruption within the bank, to investigate them thoroughly, and to appoint a new general manager.
Previously, the shareholders’ committee had filed complaints against the bank with the Anti-Corruption and Public Funds Prosecution, and also filed another lawsuit before the Commercial Court in Khartoum.
