Council of Ministers Launches Meetings from Khartoum and Reviews Reports of the Government of Hope

The Council of Ministers held its first meeting in Khartoum on Sunday following its return from Port Sudan, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris.
Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Khalid Al-Eisir stated in a press briefing that convening the meeting marks the official and practical launch of the executive government’s return to work from the capital. He explained that the Cabinet session addressed a number of issues, including levies imposed on national highways, noting that the government has reviewed the matter and will issue decisions on it soon.
The minister added that the meeting was briefed on the return of the Government of Hope’s executive apparatus to the national capital, Khartoum, through a presentation delivered by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Lamia Abdel Ghaffar Khalafallah. The Cabinet also listened to a detailed report on efforts to combat smuggling and drugs, presented by the Minister of Interior, Police Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa.
Khalid Al-Eisir further explained that the Council of Ministers discussed the Prime Minister’s vision regarding major national projects, noting that the Government of Hope has adopted a number of projects that will serve as guiding pillars for the state’s strategy in the coming phase.
He affirmed that the first Cabinet session represents the official launch of the government’s executive work from the heart of the capital, Khartoum, and confirmed that all ministries have now returned to operate from the national capital.
